Pamukkale Travertines

Undoubtedly, the main attraction of Pamukkale is its travertines (thermal springs or terraces).

They were formed 400 thousand years ago as a result of the emergence of mineral waters saturated with calcium to the surface.

As a result of the evaporation of these waters, bizarre terraces were covered with snow-white calcium were formed, which are called travertines.

This is truly a natural miracle so that in 1988, on the recommendation of UNESCO, a significant part of the travertines were closed to tourist access.

In its open-to-visit part, though, you can

  • swim in the thermal waters
  • take beautiful photos of the travertines
  • and take a walk on Pamukkale Mountain bare foot (yes, wearing any kind of shoe is forbidden!) and feel the warmth under your feet.

They all will be a superb travelling experiences.

Pamukkale Cleopatra Pool

Truly, one of the main natural wonders of Pamukkale is the Cleopatra Pool. It is famous for its healing minerals in its waters and incredible view.

And these waters are very beneficial for people who are suffering from diseases of the musculoskeletal system, overweight and skin diseases.

Plus, the waters of Cleopatra Pool in Pamukkale have a rejuvenating effect! With a swimming session in it, you can feel that your body is reviving and you are getting younger!

By the way, the water temperature in this pool can reach to 36 degrees. And you should swim in there for 2 hours maximum.

Just really, thank you very much, For this exciting trip to Pamukkale.
Pamukkale is called the eighth wonder of the world. You just need to see it with your own eyes. If you honestly do not believe that it was created by nature itself. You will not see this anywhere else. In general, travertines that are considered medicinal, a pool with unique water, an ancient city and a large amphitheater awaited us there, we also visited a huge textile factory. Prices are much lower than Kemer. We are delighted with Pamukkale, and in general with Turkey)) We will be back! Thanks again.

If I had such an opportunity, I would visit Pamukkale every year, and even better live there 🙂 I just fell in love with this place, it is extraordinary. It does not fit in my head how nature can create such amazing places. Snow-white travertines are something cosmic. The water that flows through the travertines is cool and very pleasant. We wandered along the paths for a long time, and then went up to the Cleopatra pool, which contains quite warm water from thermal springs. This is an incredibly useful place, where, as it seems to me, you can not only enjoy the surrounding nature, but also improve your health. We also visited the ancient city, the name of which I have forgotten. Although I am not a big fan of history, even I was interested in looking at the ruins of the ancient city. I recommend everyone to buy this tour. Thanks to its organizers!

It’s a long way to go, we left before dawn, but the bus is very comfortable, so we slept almost all the way and in the morning we were already in Pamukkale. It was worth it! Thank you for this trip, for new impressions and only positive emotions. I definitely recommend it!
